Etymology of FIBONACCI SEQUENCE
The word "Fibonacci Sequence" is derived from the name of an Italian mathematician Leonardo of Pisa, who was commonly known as Fibonacci. The term "Fibonacci" itself comes from the Latin "filius Bonacci", which means "son of Bonacci". The mathematician's father, Guglielmo Bonacci, was a wealthy Italian merchant who traded in North Africa, and Fibonacci was born in Pisa, Italy around the year 1170.
